Lots of my projects are built and created hand in hand with a good friend of mine called Chris. Chris is a natural engineer and has the ability to make ideas work. I on the other hand spend all my time dreaming and creating ideas. Chris and I work together on getting the ideas to a place where they become buildable. Then Chris tends to get out the welder and build!
We have a mixture of common loves, Chris has an amazing Land Rover series 1, a vehicle that is perfect for running on electric. Not that he will swap his 4 litre Ford engine for an electric motor. I however, hope one day to buy a series 3 and do exactly that! We both love Formula 1, cricket (well Chris doesn’t really like cricket!) and messing about with metal or wood or whatever we can get our hands on.
Last year I picked up a bike and an electric motor and Chris and I built our first bike together. Since then we have done several more and we have found that we can build an electric bike using your existing bike and buying a kit to fit to the bike. It is better value and also uses an existing bike which might get thrown away. And this fits in something we agree on, re-use rather than throw away.
Although this is a hobby, it is also something we can offer to you. Give me a shout if you want an electric bike.
